According to you "the Fed is just buying debt from the government and private sector". But buying these items from themselves or others must have a cost which also will need to be payed back in some manner. The more stuff the Fed buys while hugely in debt can only mean at the very least higher interest rates! Perhaps inflation is the wrong word. How about the real danger of a devalued dollar or more specifically significant reduction in our buying power. O how bout the factual discussions from other huge countries that the Dollar is starting to look risky. Which will further de-value our Dollar.IT might by definition be inflation but it will sure feel like that. Further more I find a flaw in your reasoning that we should not worry about going into 100 % debt of GDP as we have done so in the past.Things are different now. Back in world war II we had the biggest industrial or production based economies in the world. What do we produce now? Other than articles like this, that attempt smoke and mirrors. No this government binge will not bring property. We need to stop borrowing and starting producing. Otherwise it makes perfect sense to be concern

The Angry MOB of 2009
NickLaudani@gmail.com
(answer to Paul Krugman Aug 2009 NYTimes )
The Angry MOB of 2009, or the Town Hall Mob, Paul Krugman suggests a contrived right wing, corporate, Republican, or, Blue Dog Dem, Southern bigoted, healthcare insurance, special interest, Second Amendment, pro-lifer, 10 % unemployed, Fox Network, tea party, superficial fake Astro-Turf( is an understatement). Just look at how many different groups I just mentioned and hopefully logic will guide you to the possibility that there are too many disenfranchised groups to simply explain away as irrelevant, backward, or contrived
The Angry Mob of 2009 is real. I don’t carry a bible, I don’t carry a gun, I am not a pro-lifer but do recognize certain rights of life in addition to a woman’s right to choose. Another words, I am not an absolute North East extremist anymore than an extremist pro lifer. This, potential Angry Citizen of 2009 is a white middle aged man. But yet I live in a racially integrated African-American section of Boston. No-one in my family or friends would ever ponder for a second that I am a bigot. I am not rich. I am also a Consumer Advocate, but yet a free–market guy. Another way I factually break the media stereo type of a contrived angry mob. Specifically regarding health insurance is that I actually have a chronic life threatening illness, so I do have real empathy for a real need for true Health- Care reform. Massachusetts claims to exclusively own empathy regarding folks like me. Well most people who have an opinion on Health Insurance come from a different place than me. One of the Federal models of health Care reform in certain but not complete exact duplicate is modeled after the Mass Health Care model. Well after 3 years it now has proved to fail. Read the Boston Globe for details printed in the first week of Aug.2009.
Now I risk speaking for the angry mob of 2009. Many of the folks that have shown up protesting public Health Care admit to having Medicare. Medicare seems to work until you factor in costs. Medicare, while from hip to hip replacement does succeed to provide the hip. But the fact is that Medicare financially is bankrupt, as well as Social Security. Both are Public programs. Now of course Nancy Polosi congress types fix this problem like each of the Trillion dollar counterfeit printing in the last 6-8 months, by just passing 1000 page bills that certain congressional reps admit to not have read.
Now for me it was the TARP program that started me off into an abyss of physiologically measurable frustration. While the media is picking up on the Angry Mob of 2009 regarding Health care is missing the real point. The American public including me was willing to go for the experiment of trillion dollar stimuli’s. But I dually despise with valid arguments but for now not discussed regarding Cap and Trade. TARP, and this welfare short sighted Cars and/or Cash for clunkers. I only bring these programs as potentiometers that pile up with absurd even science fiction like trillion dollar surreal creation of chronic trillion dollar oasis’s of Debt.
Rather I mention these actions in summary to bring me to the point of what has finally culminated in a serious nation wide outrage. I am no genius nor prophet of the future, but I ‘d bet that Obamas crashing numbers below 50 percent regarding health care wouldn’t exist if he and Polosi and Frank did not spend trillions of dollars of American goodwill on going along with previous trillion dollar programs.
Let’s keep it simple. Forget the details of what this health care reform offers. This is partly the problem for folks like me. It doesn’t matter anymore what Obama claims. It does not matter anymore what page 998 of the bill says or what it means. My basic gut feeling cannot be denied. We all have experienced preponderance if not even pathologic; fast talking; sign the deal, or risk the end of the world. In this six months its been a fast talking series of not understood multi trillion dollar sign up and just have faith deal making. That is enough for me. I once was a fast talking salesman myself and live in the fastest walking, talking, and driving culture in the country. I feel in my gut perhaps what many of us seem to repel against.
Simply when the salesman pushes you to sign now or you will loose out is the fact that most of us answer,”Hey leave the paper work with me and I’ll get back to you.” By the way Obama promised as President he would post in advance every bill for a full five days in advance on the web any bills before he signed them so that we could review the Bill. Guess what? You should have never signed your name on the ballot to vote him as president if you now feel tricked. Because a least in the review of bills regarding numbers more than six zeroes, w didn’t get that chance, either did congress… There is a lot more for my reason to be part of the Angry Mob of 2009. But let’s keep it simple. The angry Mob is not as demonized by the Executive branch, the congress, and the major networks. The Angry Mob is actually a brewing third party and is so much, much deeper than the mainstream wishes to be.
Obama was voted in for Change. Clearly Change is on the minds of a majority of Americans. That change however is still not clear to me. At the very least I see the emergence of a third party. Or if I could rudely stretch I would say that America is in the midst of a transformation. Further that the Democratic and Republican parties are actually one party called the Demuplicans.
There might be a complete different party that emerges. A third party that represents people like me. People that understand or at least feel repressed by an almost foreign empirical entity called the Federal Government. The constitution actually allows some states to opt out of federally imposed laws regarding Healthcare, Marijuana, guns, abortion, etc. The States- believe it or not, also have separate sovereign rights checking and balancing Federal rights. If the Feds push to far you can bet some folks will push further for there own rights. Watch out folks, this Angry Mob of 2009 is not a fabricated special interest group contrived by Corporations. This Angry mob makes me curious about the Constitution.
Or even better; read the arguments of the founding fathers regarding deep concerns about the allocation of too much centralized power depriving the rights of local citizens. Don’t kid your self. This movement you are seeing is not limited to a bunch of Birthers, or paranoid conspiracy theory Moon landing folks. This movement is far beyond just the USA. The globe entirely is experiencing a new resurge of local citizens. Congress might want to just pretend to listen. That way the damage will be limited to 20-30 congressional seats. Otherwise things get much more extreme! I am not saying violence, but I am saying that there already is a subliminal vibe of confederacy verses foreign unaccountable taxation without representation,
.Perhaps it’s simply high unemployment, a complete destruction of wealth, and a gasping ghost of a production based economy. Also is as an ever growing disenchantment with big government. Let us not forget a nagging diminishing value of our dollar. But we are protected. I think the best use of our constitutional rights is the 10th amendment. I bet not a one of my friends living in the N.E. Kingdom have read it. But I believe in conciliation. And yet, I feel that there is a real and present danger of possible re-tests of States rights as best exampled in the 10th Amendment. I really cant seem to find a compelling logical forceful assertion that would put to rest my concerns that we are seeing some kind of a peaceful re-test of Confederacy type local frustration. So NYC and Washington at least for one minute please put your pig headed Miracle ears from your ivory towers to the ground, and listen.
Sincerely,

NYTimes aug 29. 09 – reaction to trust
Firstly I really would like to share with you Mr Charles Blow my very real and sincere reaction to your unique intellectual observance of some polling; without seeming to take sides. I find it very refreshing, and I thank you as a fellow American to open a brief doorway for me to ad or respond to your observance of numbers and fact.
I also equally take lesson from your first 6 responses and find certain limited agreements and disagreements.
But I think Trusting a friend or a neighbor or foreign Imperial Federal Government all encompass one same human component. Trust has to do with the suspension of ones own safety zone and reach out and at times even suspend rational empirical fact and take a leap of faith.
I state the obvious that trust is (temporarily) suspended. Rightly so by the way. As Anna posted that the two parties at the moment are barely different and no one party can claim the chief prize of broken promises. But I do not believe that this means the end of the country.
Rather look at trust in government like we all should trust in our personal relationships. When each of us has been crossed or tricked we all generally still find another way or person or Senator to prove us wrong. Another Lover or friend that we deep down know can actually take that bullet for you. Sidebar-One can trust; but this adult learns when sleeping that I wouldn t judge you badly if you slept(not alone) that while keeping one of your two eyes open is good old fashioned watch your back
The idea that not trusting Government somehow represents the end of our country is totally anti-theoretical to what this government was born on. Coincidentally and at first glance what seems un American to loose trust in government paradoxically re-enforces the very essence of what this government birthed from.
.... Remember our Government and constitution is formed with the basic preface that "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely". So do not sadden at this moment that we have some how lost a romantic (false) notion of believe in government.....
...Paradoxically, we are actually finally awakening to the hands down anthropomorphic core of what our experimental most forward and modern masterpiece is. The USA framers and Constitution works best when we Citizenry stand up and exercise what is unique to USA. Only distrust of the Feds will set us free. The recent awakening now. on one hand surely saddening when admitting trust is lost. But our government is set up to work best on distrust. And Frankly maybe now our government might start to work like it was meant to be. The quote I give is admittedly not accurate but please get the basic sentiment. "Culture brings out the beauty in humanity and governance represents the ugliest" My point is that we can best celebrate and even best survive our humanity by relying on our cultures, families, friends, civic, institutions, to make us best. Further is to always be vigilant to whenever possible recognize that Federal governments work best as our servants rather than we foolishly laying down and Trusting them as history shows. Governments enslave people. .... Distrusting government is nothing to mourn. But the rebirth of citizens glaring eyeballs, to me is finally the re-awakening of the last great hope. America, or Americans, should I say are what creates and beholds soul, spirit, and certain unalienable rights. Governments have no soul, they have no conscience, they are only an abstraction of me and you. Regarding trust. Look inside. The more we trust ourselves then maybe the more we will honor governance with a sliver of our trust.. I love America, I distrust the Feds, and that is about as patriotic as an American can be. I Do NOT CRY OVER DISTRUST I CELEBRATE IT AND SO SHOULD YOU . NickLaudani@gmail.com …….. Boston, Ma..

Medicare versus insurers
#
73. July 30, 2009 3:44 am Link
Ok fare enough on question regarding which costs spike higher comparing Medicare vs. Private insurance. According to you Medicare only rose on average a 1 percent amount less annually than the private sector.
But now a different question. Is the fact that Medicare costs spiraled 8.8 a year. Is this supposed to somehow make me want to sign up for another Fed plan that is in scope and scale all encompassing?
How about a third question. Why would I ever want to vote for any gov/Fed plan promising to reduce costs until the very plan you mention needs to be reformed to stop costs.?
What do you expect? Blind faith? We USA Folks are done with blind faith .PROVE IT >!!!!!

.Perhaps it’s simply high unemployment, a complete destruction of wealth, and a gasping ghost of a production based economy.

We all have experienced preponderance if not even pathological; fast talking; sign the deal, or risk the end of the world.
This Angry mob makes me curious about the Constitution
The globe entirely is experiencing a new re surge of local citizens. Congress might want to just pretend to listen. That way the damage will be limited to 20-30 congressional seats. Otherwise things get much more extreme! I am not saying violence, but I am saying that there already is a subliminal vibe of confederacy verses foreign unaccountable taxation without representation,
